My motorcycle is faster than my hubby's
I usually ride at the end whether it's just us two or a group
Taking in the sights, the smells, the sounds
But once in a while I get antsy
Unsatisfied with the pace of things I roll on the throttle and take off
Leaving everyone behind; watching their tiny figures disappear in my mirrors
Feeling the rush of air as it beats across my chest
Twirling my hair into knots that beg to be conditioned once home
And feeling the thrill of being alive and being free
Eventually remembering I have no friggin clue where we're going
Reluctantly bringing the pace back down until they catch up
And I resume my place in line behind the smirking bikers
~ ~
Ever wonder what the caged bird thinks day after day
As he looks through the bars and out the window
as he watches the other birds soar through the skies
Until that one day the cage door is left open
and in his excitement he flies and crashes into the window
laying there stunned wondering what happened
~ ~ ~
I entered the year of Passion in much the same way as above
It was like someone opened the cage door
And all these aspects of me flew, ran, rolled on the throttle
In. Different. Directions.
And that might not have been a problem
Except that 'we' are all still 'me' and connected
Imagine if you will the bungee cord
that stretches gloriously in the thrill of the free fall
until it reaches maximum stretch and recoils...
Yup, my 'cord' reached maximum stretch
and all the aspects of 'me' were pulled back and slammed back into place
and I sat there stunned wondering what happened
A plan
I forgot that I needed a plan
In my restlessness
In my excitement
I forgot to have a teeny idea of where I was going
So my Physical, Spiritual, Creative pieces took off in different directions
and remembered they have no clue where they're going
So as I reign myself back in for a pow-wow...
I wish you a Happy New Year
~
I apologize for my absence
In my derailment I convinced myself nobody reads anyway
And forgot that My Quest is for me
to remember and learn from my quest
Silly girl
Happy New Year
ReplyDeleteI read sill girl

ReplyDeleteHappy 2012. Hugs Karen
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you back.
ReplyDeleteWell, live and learn, eh? Happy planning!
ReplyDeleteThis makes too much sense to me. I wish I was able to say, "I'm not sure what you're talking about." Ha!
ReplyDeletePull in the 'reigns' but not too hard my dear. We do not want a 'broke' Elena. We want the free spirit artist that she is.
It's your blog, so your rules. You post as often or as seldom as you want to and we will follow along or not. At least that is my blog philosophy! So what is the plan? Do you write your plans out or do you just make them in your head. I suppose the MP's are a good place to write down your plans. I hope you include in your plans not to get hurt so you can fulfill your intentions!
ReplyDeleteBaby steps. Always secure the bungee cord before jumping and put stickers on your windows so you don't bump your pretty little head. Now fly, Hummingbird, fly!
ReplyDeleteVery philosophical Elena and so true. Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're back to your center post. Great message! (and another thing...I'm glad you're here, cause I don't do facebook much).
ReplyDelete:):) Glad to see you whenever you choose to appear.
