Back Home

"You are built not to shrink down to less but to blossom into more" ~Oprah
~

Someone recently told me to work on one part of myself at a time
Wise advice
Except I didn't choose to start addressing all aspects of self - it just happened
~ ~ ~
I've been told to choose a goal
something to work towards
and yet I think of setting out on my motorcycle with no destination in mind
and just follow where my heart leads
and I find those days offer the greatest adventures
It may not be the fastest or straightest path there but the most exciting
Because of all the things encountered on the journey
So goal or no goal - perhaps it's a combination of the two?

But that said
I waste the most fuel by taking the scenic route on that journey
And perhaps I expend the most energy by not choosing one goal to work towards
~ ~ ~

All my life I've felt invisible
Until meeting others who felt the same way and finding myself suddenly visible
And in my excitement I became too visible
So I now retreat and come back home to My Quest
to consult my travel maps once again
~ ~ ~
So just random thoughts
as I throw open the windows in My Quest
seems I've been gone a while
and it's become a bit stuffy in here
~
"Every time you suppress some part of yourself or allow others to play you small,
you are in essence ignoring the owner's manual your creator gave you
and destroying your design." ~Oprah

  1. Good to see you back, Elena! I wondered where you had gone... Love your post! No energy is ever wasted, you know, not on the scenic route or if you have one goal. It's all life. Anyway, glad you are back!! Hugs, Silke

  2. Ah Elena, life seems so much better now that you are back. I think this business of having a goal is important if you feel or believe it to be so. Sometimes the goal though is not to have a goal but to enjoy the journey and go with the flow, that in itself is a goal for in the flow we find things we may have missed otherwise and we are after all still moving forward? One of my favourite philosophical expressions which I posted on a few days ago is:-

"Constantly the waters change, eternally the river flows!"
