Word for the Year Update

Apparently I can't 'walk and chew gum' at the same time

The more I post on my other blog, MadameStyx.com

the less I post here

I want to make sure I get out of that bad habit

One - I miss you guys and value your insight

Two - I print these posts yearly and they become a yearly journal

(I need something to read when I'm rocking on my porch at 99 ha!)

So, at the end of June I sat back to 'take stock'

It's the middle of the year...where have I been & where am I going kind of thing

Thinking that perhaps my word for the year decided to let me off easy

When the word ALCHEMY chose me 

I had a gut feeling this was the one all the others (Trust, Love, Passion) had led up to

Knowing what the others brought...I was nervous

But I had to admit that each had forced me to grow
I've discovered a new way of experiencing life
I've discovered that people and things will come and go
That I do not need to hold onto everything that crosses my path

That when I let something go, something better comes along

And that I am grateful to those for the lessons presented

 That some are meant to stay longer than others

And a deeper awareness develops

I've discovered that I do not need to choose one thing 

I am a multifaceted being and whatever I choose to focus on nourishes the rest 

I've rediscovered the pride of cultural and family ties

That my cells carry the story of my ancestors

And that they are kick-ass

I've started to recognize that Alchemy has already started working its magic

It's been interesting, magical, tough

I don't know what story I'll be telling by the end of the year

but for now I fully embrace the gift I've been given
