Religion

In the few years since I left work

I've become fascinated by religions

Daring to expand beyond my Catholic teachings

to learn more about others'

only to find that although I will always be a 'foundation Catholic'

I have become more spiritual than religious

In doing so I have become aware that there is so much more

than I was led to believe

that my curiosity has served to enrich my life

with a new respect and admiration for the world I live in

and the source behind it all

And as I experience more 

I find joy in symbolism

what if it's more simple than organized religion teaches

 

We originate at a source

beautifully unique...creating a whole

we set out upon the world 

individual but still part of the whole

making a mark on all we touch

until we return to source

And I like to imagine...

We die and return to source

Hanging around the great reflecting pool with the other souls

We share stories of what we learned on our journey 

As we wait to get back in line for another shot

I'm determined to make my stories at the reflecting pool good ones this time around
