What the hell is "it"?

I mentioned not knowing what I'm searching for but I do have an idea what "it" looks like. I see "it" in the faces of some people - although not many. I see "it" in their body movements. In simple gestures. Is "it" strength? Is "it" confidence? Knowing who you are and what you want? Is "it" a love for life? Fearlessness?

I started wondering if perhaps "it" was fabricated since I've only seen "it" in trained professionals. Perhaps they're faking "it" but then I received this picture of my friend Lee with her new Moto Guzzi and I realized she has "it" too. Whew! That must mean that "it" is attainable..

Heck, even my Jazz has "it".

Ricky Martin captures "it" better than anyone I've seen in his Pegate video. He is completely present and loving the moment. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HnwX3xMfEs

My goal is to attain "it". But I don't think I'll do so in this lifetime. I'm too much of a dreamer, a planner, proceed so cautiously that I can't take the first step. But I'll give myself credit, I have taken first steps but the difficulty now lies in taking the second and third. I'm overwhelmed with uncertainty. I have surrounded myself with almost all the materials needed but I can't move forward. So I can either sit here where it's safe and continue walking around occasionally lifting my head and holding my shoulders back or add my photo to the "it" gallery above. Besides, it would be nice to attain "it" in this lifetime instead of starting my search all over again in the next.

  1. The it comes along as we start really living OUR lives were are meant to live and we don't see it in our selfs we don't even know we have it already. If one is true and honest and seeks to live in a good life they have it. When one feels comfortable in there own skin no matter where they are they have it. I call it personal integrity but don't know if that is really it but for me that is what I stand to carry my understand with my place and what is most important. could ramble on but Honey you've got to already and are afraid to look at it for fear you might be better looking then the ones you posted. hehehe. just a joke for ya. but no really your that strength and confidence your talking about already because you are not afraid to be you and stand for that.

  2. Oh sure, this coming from the one whose picture already proves she has "it"! I see "it" in your art, the clothes you wear (ala Stevie Knicks) and the music you listen to. So I'm chalking you up to another proof that you don't have to be Hollywood famous to have "it". Thanks!

  3. what ever you have, you can never see it yourself with out a lot of practice. It is being amazing without trying to be amazing, because what you are trying to do is be yourself and do things that you enjoy/love/want to do.

on a general scale, people see someone who has "it" and think that if only they could get that, or be that way. And then they put their head down and keep doing what they're suppose to do. usually trudging along.

from what I can see you certainly have "it". Not many people would, given the opportunity, leave a job like you have in order to find themselves. You can no longer be like everyone else and just whimsically wish you had "it" cause you do have it. You don't even need to know what to do with "it" now. You already know the answer to that, but its not going to make a path in front of you all the time. You make the path.

the whole world, and even the way thoughts travel in people's minds, is a giant pasta noodle mess of options. Even when you think one way, or move in one direction you don't limit yourself to one path, you open new pasta bowls.

I learned once something very important.

you always always have a choice.

those people, all people, me people, you people, who have "it" made a choice to do what you wanted. you make choices and do what you love, then you have "it". Sometimes you have to compromise, sometimes not.

everything is or isn't. But you always get to choose.

  4. You are so wise, Elena. You have "it" for sure. You've done it. No question there. Just keep on doing what you're doing. Lois and I could tell right away when we met you - we are drawn to you. You've got it! (Wonderful comments, Laura and Stevie.)

  5. I read an interesting quip just today about becoming a butterfly. If we keep retreating to the safe comfortable cocoon, we never transform.
