Higher Power

I was raised Catholic and although I still am, I am not a practicing Catholic by standard definition. I was in Church a couple years ago and realized my head was somewhere else while I robotically responded to the prayers. My heart wasn't in it - that's not worship. I decided not to believe anymore but couldn't ignore the feeling that there is something. A higher power; a source; whatever it's called. If I'm on my bike, I find myself having long mental conversations which usually start with "God, you've outdone yourself, look at that tree, rainbow, mountain...". Then a couple years ago I found myself watching a documentary on The Secret. I wanted to know more and that led me to books on the Law of Attraction/Abraham Hicks and it snowballed from there. I was devouring books on spiritualism, law of attraction, angels, spirit guides, buddhism. I read Sonia Choquette, Doreen Virtue, I spoke with psychics and Catholic priests, I tried meditation, tai-chi. I was amazed. There was a whole other world that at first I discounted as being 'evil'. At the start I felt as if Sister Mary would smack me on the back of the head with the wooden paddle if she knew I was doing this. Then I started applying some of what I learned and was amazed that I could make changes happen. I started understanding a bit more what the Soul I had heard about in Catholic school was all about. There is more out there. In my attempt at doing a good job at work I never took the time to actually LIVE my life. I fell into the same robotic routine. I'm awake now. I feel like I'm on the right path.
