As I finished planting the perennials, my mind wandered. Wouldn't it be grand if I had walked into the thicket of thorns and found that the source of the cry was a small fairy? Perhaps her wings would be tangled in the wild raspberry thorns. Seeing me she would cry out in surprise. I would tell her not to be afraid as I gently untangled her wings. She would offer me three wishes. And seeing as I was already daydreaming I figured I would skip the standard requests of world peace, end wars and world hunger, etc..
So what would I wish for? Probably a thousand things but these were on my mind:
- I wish to awake to my full potential (whatever that may be)
- I wish to create beautiful paintings (beautiful in my eyes)
- I wish to gather blogger friends and have a creativity weekend getaway
I never did find the source of that cry. Alas, no fairies. But now that I think about it, there really is no reason why I couldn't make these things happen....right?

So, what would you wish for?
I'd wish for all of the above too :)
ReplyDeleteand to be able to eat anything I want and not put on weight ;)
What a fun post and what great wishes!
ReplyDeleteIf I were to choose dreamy (vs. cure for cancer etc.) wishes as well, I would wish to be transported to Italy where I would find out that a long lost relative had just willed me a vinyard, lovely home and acreage. Then I would wish for endless airline tickets to send to all my friends for a visit and we would throw a grand party in the vineyard with food, wine, beautiful decoration, Italian music and we would dance!
or maybe I would wish for a magical tea party in the local forest with all my darlings where we could frolic and play and chase that darned leprechaun that keeps skirting our nimble fingers.
What would I wish for....the health I had at 25 (and the fgiure too!) because then I could do ANYTHING!
ReplyDeleteMaybe a chance to start over...accomplish more...make wiser decisions.
But alas, I would not be the person I am now, and I do rather like me!!! ;)
I would just ask for the ehalth---then anything is possible!!!
XXOO~~♥
Anne In Her Decrepitude!
What a great post. I think you´ve been holding on to this Fairy for a while as reading your earlier posts you are already living your 3 wishes. So I think it is time to start sharing this fairy out with your friends........:)
ReplyDeleteLike it!
Perhaps the cry was there just to trigger that thought process
I don't seem to be awake enough to think about wishes right now but, I sure do love that creative weekend with the bloggers idea!! Wouldn't it be cool to get a bunch of bloggers together to all meet for the first time!?!?!
ReplyDeleteFabulous! I may start dreaming fairies and maybe even draw one...
ReplyDeleteThis is hard. I wrote several and then thought, is that really what I would wish for? I have to think about this. This must be why there are so many fairy tales showing us what happens when wishes are made without reflection. I am going off to reflect. Have a great weekend. Hugs Karen
ReplyDeleteElena, I always go into dreamland when I visit here and that's a good thing. Your house is full of magic and I know there are angels and fairies and coyotes and peacocks who live there.
ReplyDeleteThree wishes
well to live to my highest potential and not hold back with sharing my gifts to the Universe.
to travel all over the world painting and taking photos and meeting new people
to come to your house and sit around a campfire with like minds (your #3) and yes, the fairies and angels and other wonderful beings can join in too.
And many more wishes too numerous to mention here!
May all of our wishes come true!!!!!
I would wish for a house by the sea where I could invite my arty friends to come for arty getaway weekends a few times a year along with interesting teachers from all over and share the wonders of creating all together...by the sea. Did I say, by the sea ? ;)
