Pseudo-Creativity

Before heading out to Santa Fe I had spent most of my summer hiding indoors from the unbearable humidity. I wasn't drawing or painting much of anything but did spend some time creating. Or pretending to create. Or creating things I hated. Yeah, that sounds like it fits better.

I'm on the Octoberfest committee for the woman's group I joined in an effort to meet more people. Here we are a year later and although the woman are very nice, this group is not for me. But I am honoring my commitment to Octoberfest (which is almost here 10/2 yay!) and quitting right after. So here's how pathetic I became:

Obviously I miss working because I created maps of the downtown area
and one of the parks
I created excel spreadsheets for the activity schedules
I designed buttons and bottle koozies
I cut and numbered buttons
Played with their button machine
Made school flyers

Wow, see what happens when you try to squelch your creativity?
It pathetically grabs onto
whatever comes its way...

I would have enjoyed myself more if I had just gone ahead and painted that big canvas.

  3. Hey, learning what doesn't work for you can be just as valuable as finding out what does ! And they were lucky to have your creative twist onthings, even if it was for just a short while. Here's to finding places where we can really shine but loving what we do in the "mean" time. Hugs, Beautiful Lady !

  6. I like it when there are projects. I have some oncoming projects too. Glad you are keeping busy. You sound like things are getting better and that is a good thing. I am going to be making a little niche to put little skeleton heads. I already bought the clay and I have a little box that small jars of jelly came in and I just need to paint it and decorate it as well as the heads. For El Dia de los Muertos. I shall see you, take care and enjoy yourself in whatever you do.
