We had fun at the Jimmy Buffet concert last night. I truly enjoy the music but even more I enjoy his...hmmm, I guess you can call it aura or the "it" from a former post. He is so full of life and seems to enjoy every minute and it's contagious.
But my negative self was having a field day with my head. It was pointing out all my faults and was spoiling the mood. Perhaps it was the heat and being in the crowd. I'm a bit concerned that I may be becoming a hermit that doesn't want to be around people.
I finally took my son and we went to the open areas near the walkways where there was a breeze. I had a ball up there watching Jimmy and the crowds. People were dancing everywhere. Someone came up and serenaded my son and danced with me. My son was wide-eyed at first but eventually started bobbing to the music. He's so much like my dad-no nonsense. He enjoyed himself quite a bit to see that adults don't have to act like adults all the time. Especially when he saw the principal of a school hooting and hollering as he danced in circles.
I watched as strangers danced then exchanged phone numbers at the end of the night. I watched and burst out laughing at three women walking through the aisle. They were in their 60s and whenever they passed a guy (no matter the age) they grabbed his butte. The whole time keeping a straight face and their gaze forward. You would never know this was happening but as I watched them I noticed the guys would jump and look around. Not until they got closer did I notice the hidden hand at each of these women's sides reaching out to the bootay. Ah..life, it can be so amusing. I pointed this out to my son who looked horrified at this improper behavior. I told him adults are just grown up kids and it's okay to have fun.
I've been seeing a lot of serious little kids myself lately. Its always nice to know that the "adults" in my life are people too. Silly and all included.
