I just read all your responses to yesterday's post
And laughed
Y'all rock (quoting cheesy nacher hee hee)
Then I saw Suz' saying I'm dramatic and paused
And thought.....thought some more
First thinking that wasn't very nice
Then remembering how much I dislike drama
And hoping I wasn't prone to dramatics
When it finally occurred to me that drama can be a good thing
Drama done wrong is blowing things out of proportion ala celebrity reality shows
Drama done right can be like the universe handing you
a bobby pin to pick the door lock
It can be a tiny signal trying to point out something that bothers you deep inside
Something that can be addressed without blowing it out of proportion
I'm sorry if I came off as being dramatic
I know I have self-love issues but it's with humor that I approached this event
(I did say tee hee! Perhaps I should have said haa haa!)
I've made great strides
Several months ago I would have worn the biggest dress I could find
In the hopes of hiding
This time
Drama taught me
To wear the dress proudly
Even if I was a bit wider,
perhaps lumpier in more places than before
But I had a great time
Being with family
Getting to know my nephews and nieces
Not as the children I babysat
But as the beautiful adults they've become
And laughing with them as they recounted stories
And teased that my eyes still disappear when I laugh
So now I'm using another 'bobby-pin' handed to me
by my new found friend "Drama"
And posting a picture of me
So you can put a face to all the ramblings
Aren't these kids beautiful?
And see how my eyes are disappearing?
Oh and don't get me started on those stupid heels!
(tee hee)
I mean HAA! HAA!
And my niece
She was absolutely breathtaking
~I was so proud~
And my niece
