It's not 2011 yet!

I like to play a little game of 'guess what's in the mailbox before you open it'

Yep, I'm easy to entertain

So yesterday I announced that we received our first Christmas card

Opened the mailbox and found only junk mail and a box

Not just any box

One that found its way to me all the way from Australia

From a soul-sister I found through this blog

And realized how similar we are in so many ways

The amazingly creative Shelly made me an angel doll and named her Selena

Amusing since Shelley didn't know my middle name is Selina

There's alot of love in her creations

Does it sound strange to say I 'feel' it in this doll?

What a special addition to my newly created 'altar'

The spot where I have placed things that remind me of gratitude

That make me smile when I pass

Selena now represents love on my little spot

Along with the picture of my brother that died

The wooden angel and sage stick my cousin in New Mexico gave me

The feather I found and those my Mama gave me

The basket woven by a woman sitting at the base of a dormant volcano

when I went to Hawaii

The rock in the shape of a duck's head my uncle gave me

when I visited him in Lake Tahoe when I was 15

And the skirt my Mama made me when I was about 4 years old

lies beneath it all

I now need to create a piece that Shelley will use in her meditation space

I'm nervous

And yet...not

I know it will be a creation of love

And will come to be as soon as I put fear aside

(So Shelley, yes I'm going to start on it right away!)

I suppose this post could be a continuation of yesterday's

Does the Universe know it's still 2010?

Are we already working on the Love lessons?

I think so

Because with one little doll, Shelley made me feel oh so loved

And validated that the word was the right one for the new year
