Puppy Lesson

I've been watching the puppy closely. Each morning she wakes up with a hearty yawn and stretch. She looks around and when she sees me her tail wags strongly enough to shake her whole body. She gets so excited as to say "hi lady! you really are here! I thought I was dreaming!" and hugs and wants to give kisses as she makes little crying sounds. Every morning. Same thing.

She wakes up with gratitude.

Minus the wagging and hugging and kissing, I've started doing the same.

I wake up

Open my eyes

Surprised and thankful that I've been granted another day

I let the dogs out and inhale the crisp cold air

And I'm thankful

So today's tail wagging moment is my gratitude for y'all. 

Wag wag wag
