Balance and Magnets

There are things that I find fascinating-way too many to list here. But right up there with caterpillars' metamorphosis into butterflies, northern lights and the way the body heals itself after a cut...I'm really fascinated by the power of our minds and the things we cannot see. I've read about attracting what you set your mind to. I've written about it here many times but still get caught in my negative thought patterns. Old habits I suppose. Ones I need to break.

And I wondered if this concept works something like the magnets I used to love playing with. Where I could try to force an attraction but they repelled each other instead. And all I had to do was turn it just so and there was an instant connection. Although repelling the magnets off the table was such fun; it's not so fun when I repel the things I want in my life. So if my mind works along the same concept and all I have to do is turn the thought process 'just so' will I get an instant connection?

So perhaps it's all about balance. Instead of wallowing in the negative thought pattern, I just balance it with the positive thoughts. Like molding a clay ball; smoothing out the rough edges. And perhaps I need the negative and positive thoughts so that there's always reason for growth and change-a constant sculpting of sorts. God knows I think I want the security of routine but as soon as I'm stuck in the same old rut I'm quickly trying to dig myself out.

But this is really challenging. I'm not patient and yet know I need to be; otherwise I'm repelling everything I want straight to the outer reaches of 'neverland'. And when I catch myself wallowing over something like the lack of money, I quickly turn it around to appreciate what I do have. And I take it so far as to pretend I could afford anything I want. It raises my vibrational level or my "attracting power" (ha, sounds like some cheesy SciFi movie special). I've gone to Hobby Lobby and loaded my basket with all the stuff I want. I walk around for a long time revelling in this feeling of abundance because I could "afford" everything in that basket if I wanted it. And then I start putting things back because I really don't "want" them right now. And then I feel better. I'm in control of how I choose to look at things. And it doesn't always work; like when I open the bills. But I try to change my thought process; anything to raise that feeling before I repel the good right off the table.
