Confessions

The Studio
I finally moved the computer into the studio after being kicked out of the 'play' room. And now that I cleaned and organized, the studio looks like it's "all dressed up with no place to go". I gather, collect and organize. But no creating. And I'm embarrassed because my really cool artist blog friend is coming to visit tomorrow. Here I have a beautiful studio and nothing is happening. For shame!

Fluffy
I feel like I'm letting down the bloggers on the Fluffy Exterior because I haven't exercised and drinking water is like asking me to drink gasoline. And I'm out of excuses.

Hubby
This one can be a tricky confession and I'm not even sure how to word it. Hubby is twelve years older than me. Before we got married a couple years ago he was worried about the age difference. I saw no problem with it since we did the same things and really connected. But now, I'm feeling the difference and I don't want to. Is it weird to say that sometimes I forget I'm really only 42 and not 52? I act older than I am. Is turning 55 different than 52? He seems 'older' and not just in age because that's just a number. Is it weird to be 42 and thinking of retirement?

Stevie (my motorcycle)
You know I thought of selling her. Until I rode her and fell in love all over again. Then hubby was telling me about his conversation with his mom. He told her he was thinking of selling both bikes and investing in a pool. He said we probably won't be taking many long road trips and now that we're older.... I said he could sell his bike and the four wheelers. Mine wasn't going anywhere even if I had to bribe the neighbors to hide it. Am I being selfish?

Yeah yeah I know I am way too open. But how else do you get wisdom from fellow travelers if you don't share and ask?

  2. The Studio - Dang girl! Get in there! What are you waiting for!!! ;P

Fluffy - everyone's there struggling together, having each other's back and holding each other accountable. if you feel bad, fix it. think "that was yesterday and today's a new day" Know what I love doing to exercise when I get a chance? Skipping!!! It's sooo fun! Can't skip and not smile, ya know?

Hubby - This too shall pass. Seems like right as I think I can't get any more frustrated with my darling husband, something happens to remind me why I fell in love with him in the first place. Let him be the Yin and you can be the Yang (or vice versa). Embrace your differences. You can learn a lot from each other.

Stevie - not selfish at all. your bike, your choice!

Just my 2 cents (which probably isn't worth all that much in today's economy) ;)

  3. Ha ha ha caught you! More whining about water hehehe. Too funny.

About the age thing. I feel a lot different at 55 nearly 56 than I did at 52. Don't start acting old. Keep playing and being young and hubby will start to act younger too. AND DO NOT SELL THE MOTORBIKE!!!

  4. I think UTA said it for me too. I think if you get in that studio and start creating, the juices will begin to flow and other things/problems will just melt away. Enjoy each day no matter what, life is too short. Take care and have a great Friday.

  5. Nooo, you are not letting your "fluffies" down!! We're all in this together!! The good and the bad!! As for age, I'm finding that being pretty much mid-50's leaves me feeling a little "off-kilter" or something and I know it has my husband doing lots of thinking and re-thinking life and, from my point of view, acting a little strange. I thought that by this age we would have everything all figured out and that's not the case at all. I'm finding the 50's to be tough. Elena, if you go thru 50's stuff in your 40's, your 50's ought to be a breeze, right? One can hope!!

  6. Just enjoy, sounds like you're being quite hard on yourself. Decisions. It's summer and what I like to do then besides float in a pool is create outdoors. Not in the studio, but with the warmth of the sun on my face.

  8. I say get in the studio and mess it up a little ! And join ask a friend to join you !

Feeling the extra fluffy pressure myself these days !!! Do youthink we will ever really get it ?

I say look at your man and look for the same guy that made your heart beat fast and not care about age before. He is still in there ! Let him do the thinking about retiring and you head out for a ride on Stevie! I know it isn't easy as that but when the foundations are there, in love and respect, you will figure it out for the both of you...
Too open ? I don't think that is a bad thing either. Every once in a while we get hurt, but we also get to achieve the sweetest and realest connections with the hearts of others as well.
Big Love to you, Journey Girl...
