It may sound like cliche to say my son teaches me things
But when he was born he taught me that I was far stronger than I believed
He taught me not to trust what doctors say
If I had - he wouldn't be here
Then he taught me patience and love
And that no distance is too far to find just the right daycare
And now he acts like a little dad
Told me to keep blogging when I wanted to quit
He asks me if I've been back in the studio
Asks if I'm keeping up with reading the Artist Way
Offers to read me my blog when I'm going through 'deprivation week'
And now he's teaching me to play the guitar
As he learns electric and I learn acoustic
He goes to class
I learn from him
And when he tries to teach me to read notes
He catches on when I try to cheat and count the note repetitions instead
He's a tough teacher
But I wouldn't trade him for the world

boys are amazing that way....protective !
ReplyDeletehopefully he will keep all that charm.... forever !
What a joy! He's a keeper!
ReplyDeleteI feel the same about my boy : ) Thanks for putting it to words.
