I DID IT! I DID IT! I DID IT! (happy dance)
I have cleared out that paper pile that's been stalking the dark corners for two years. It started out at the condo and followed me here; always lurking. Everything is filed or tossed. I have a small pile of calls to make and things to review with hubby but THAT IS IT!
So it was pretty cool looking at today's post in Soul Coaching which says "the power of clutter-clearing cannot be overrated. Maybe you are not exactly clear about what form you want your life to take, but if you start clearing clutter, your authentic self will begin to emerge....it can have a powerful corresponding effect on the mental clutter inside you." Denise Linn
Some may think, hey, it's a pile of papers. What's the big deal. Well, it was always on my mind. I knew it was there. Loose ends, unfinished business. And I imagined all sorts of bad things like lapsed policies, money owed...failures. Why failure? Because I couldn't even file a damned piece of paper. I trivialize when I'm trying to avoid larger things. But it feels really good to get rid of this. There are other areas that need to be addressed but this one was the worst because it was so old.
'Clutter' can come in many forms. Mental, physical, emotional... Now that I know I can, I'll address those as I go. The others are harder but not as big. There's a hidden pile of pictures which represent life in my previous marriage...ugghh. There's the exercise and eating better pile I'm avoiding.
But little steps. The great thing is I have started.
"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" Confucius
By the way, today's affirmation from Soul Coaching is:
"There is clarity within me and around me"

Too funny how this is so true, I was talking to my youngest daughter about my two oldest one and there clutter and no motovation to move forward and I was wondering if it has to do with a mess bedroom... and I know how I feel too when the clutter is tackled.. good for you lady glad you are continuing on your own personal discoveries.
ReplyDeleteWhooo hooo! I need to read this Denise Linn book. Seems to be where I am too. Clutter, clutter! The last few days I to have been working through stuff. Many old books(cookbooks) now to library one step.I guess it was wish that I would cook more with them! I read somewhere to put things in piles, what really has meaning for you, keep. The rest toss. This has helped me.
ReplyDeleteI have many papers from my parents files from 10 years ago. Always thought there was importance to keeping them, somebody somewhere would track me down, would need something. But I also realize there is an emotional connection to the papers, I can somehow keep their memories alive through their documents! (Don't have many other trinkets to remember them by, otherwise. Sigh! Also, I know there is much stuck energy in my clutter, no room for new energy to come in. Keep cleaning and clearing, Elena, I'm doing the same across the miles. Can't wait to see what emerges from within ourselves as a result.
P.S. I have many "suits" hanging in my closets in homage? of my days in business. I keep thinking I'll need them, but the artist side of me says jeans and casuals only.....
Still a battle emotionally....baby steps as you say!
I know exactly how it goes with clutter and paper piles---I have the same problem. My word for 2010 Is "Expand" but I want my clutter and my body to shrink in the New Year. The clutter sucks so much energy out of me!! And by the way, your post about the # 28 struck home---I have always considered 2 and 8 to be my "lucky" numbers---no particular reason---have just always liked those numbers!!! Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas Elena!! We will have to try to meet in the New Year!!! I really look forward to this new beginning!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm doing the dance of joy. I understand what this means. I still have a few 'piles' to go through myself but I'm well on the way.
ReplyDeleteWay to go! This sounds like a program I need to follow. You are taking such wonderful steps on your journey. Have a very Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteReally inspirational you are ther lady! I'm tracking through many piles as we speak!
