Thin Veil

I was four when my brother died

They said he went to Heaven

And became an angel

Then they wondered why I refused

to play the angel in the Christmas play

I held on to my mom and said I wasn't ready

to go to Heaven

As I stared at all the stars in the darkened sky

I watched them slowly fade from view

as the sun began to wake

I knew they were still there

Even though I couldn't see them

It made me wonder

About the existence of things I cannot see

I know Angels exist

so I wonder if these do too
